The High Court on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned to impose a ban on plying of battery-run rickshaws in Dhaka within three working days.
The HC bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi passed the order after hearing a writ petition.
Secretaries to the Home Affairs Ministry and Local Government Ministry, Inspector General of Police, Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, authorities concerned of two city corporations have been asked to implement the order.
Barrister HM Sanzid Siddique and Barrister Tahsina Tasnim Mridu stood for the petitioner.
