Bangladesh Meteorological Department had forecast heavy (44-88mm /24hrs) to very heavy (> 88mm/24hrs) rainfall at many places over in six divisions due to the influence of a low over the Bay of Bengal.
It predicted rains in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions in 48 hours commencing 6 pm on Wednesday.

“The low-pressure over Northwest Bay and adjoining area intensified into a well-marked low over the same area. It is likely to intensify further,” said a Met office bulletin.
Due to very heavy rainfall landslide may occur at places over the hilly districts of Chattogram, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachari and Cox's Bazar.
Besides, temporary waterlogging may occur at places over Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas, it added.
