The government has declared a general holiday in the three hill districts—Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban—on April 13 on the occasion of Chaitra Sankranti.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
The holiday will be optional in other districts for those observing Chaitra Sankranti.
Besides, April 14 is a public holiday on the occasion of Pohela Baishakh. As a result, people in the three hill districts will enjoy a two-day holiday.
The Ministry of Public Administration had earlier issued a notification on November 9, 2025, specifying public holidays for government, semi-government, statutory, autonomous and semi-autonomous organisations.
