Ramzan Ali, a school teacher of the area, demanded quick renovation of the broken part of the road to avoid fatal accidents.
Md Monir Hossain, terminal supervisor, Souhardo Paribahan, said little holes were seen earlier but this one is huge and risky.
Rafiqul Islam, a driver of a Dhaka-bound car, said the holes are unknown to drivers thanks to lockdown for a long time.
Driving cars at night on the highway is very risky, he added.
KBM Saddam Hossain, executive engineer, Rajbari Roads and Highways Department, said holes were created on Dhaka-Khulna highway due to heavy rain in the last few days.
The hole has been created on 20-25 feet area in front of Daulatdia Union Parishad , he said adding that initiative has been taken to repair it on emergency basis.
