A delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), led by its President Maria Howlader FCA, recently met with representatives from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), UK, at CIPFA's office in London.
The other member of the ICAB delegation was Chief Operating Officer Mahbub Ahmed Siddique FCA, according to a press release.
During the meeting, key discussions revolved around a potential joint certification program on Public Sector Financial Management (PSFM) for ICAB members and students. The two institutes also explored avenues for strengthening their mutual collaboration and discussed working together on current and upcoming PSFM projects in Bangladesh.
Furthermore, CIPFA, UK, awarded its membership to the ICAB delegates through the ICAB-CIPFA Pathway Membership Scheme, established under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2017.
Membership certificates were presented to ICAB President Maria Howlader FCA and Chief Operating Officer Mahbub Ahmed Siddique FCA during the meeting.
The CIPFA team present at the meeting included Steve Watkins, Senior Lead International Partnership, and Cal Hager, International Policy Manager of CIPFA, along with another official from the institute.
