The general point-to-point inflation rate in Bangladesh rose in October, reaching 10.87 percent, up from 9.92 percent in September, 2024.
According to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the increase was driven by a rise in food inflation, which jumped to 12.66 percent from 10.40 percent.
Meanwhile, non-food inflation showed a slight decline, easing to 9.34 percent in October from 9.50 percent in September.

The general point-to-point inflation rate both in urban and rural areas also increased last month.
The point-to-point inflation in rural areas in October was 11.26 percent which was 10.15 percent in the previous month.
On the other hand, the point-to-point inflation rate in urban areas in October was 10.44 percent while it was 9.83 percent in September.
The wage rate index in October was 8.07 percent while it was 8.01 percent.
