Islamic University, Sept 30 (UNB) - Assistant Professor M Mustafizur Rahman has been appointed as the new chairman of folklore studies department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari appointed him to the post for the next three years, said SM Abdul Latif, acting registrar of the university on Monday.
He was appointed to the post as the tenure of the previous chairman Professor M Saidur Rahaman of Bangla department concluded.
Mostafizur Rahman said he will work for the betterment of the department with the assistance of teachers and students of the university.
