Unknown persons from home and abroad called Mostafizur Rahman alias Mithun Mostafiz, a lecturer of IU Folklore Studies department and acting editor of the Daily Bangladesh Shomoy, over his mobile phone soon after he lodged the GD with IU Police Station on Friday night when callers threatened to kill him, said pro-Awami League teacher panel Shapla Forum on Monday.
A general diary over the death threat was also filed with the police station.
In a written statement, the Shapla Forum expressed grave concern over the death threat and urged the government to take necessary steps against the culprits after identifying them.
On Friday night, Mostafizur Rahman filed the general diary with Islamic University Police Station, few hours after Kamal got angry at a journalist in Dhaka following his question over the Front’s position on Jamaat-e-Islami.
