Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari has been made the finance committee member of University Grants Commission (UGC).

M Rezaul Karim, officer of VC’s office confirmed the matter and said that they received a letter signed by the UGC joint-secretary, Jafar Ahmad Jahangir in this regard.

Rashid Askari was appointed to the post for the next two years, he added.

‘I will try my best to perform my duties with sincerity and honesty’, Professor Rashid Askari said.

Earlier, he was appointed as a part-time member of UGC on October 22 last year.
