A new seven-member convening committee for the Japan chapter of the National Poetry Council has been formed in Tokyo.
Mukul Mostafiz has been appointed as the convener, with Harunur Rashid serving as the member secretary, said a press release on Monday.
Poet Masud Karim, the International Secretary of the National Poetry Council, attended the event, which followed a poetry reading and literary gathering. Members of the International Committee of the National Poetry Council, Shahinoor Baby and Salma Akter, were also present on the occasion.
Notably, the Bengali magazine Banglar Mukh (The Face of Bengal), initiated by the Japan chapter of the National Poetry Council, was published at that time and remains a cherished publication among the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Japan.
