Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Naoki on Thursday met Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and discussed Japan's cooperation in economic development.
Issues related to Kanchpur, Meghna, Second Gumti bridges and Dhaka Metro Rail were discussed.
They sought to promote further collaboration on infrastructure through public–private partnership (PPP) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) funding.

"Japan has been the largest development partner for Bangladesh, and we will continue to work closely with the government and the people of Bangladesh," said Ambassador Naoki.
Quader expressed appreciation for Japan's contribution to Bangladesh's infrastructure and economic development.
