Md Redwanur Rahman, head of bulk sales of Bashundhara Group, handed over a cheque for Tk 5 lakh and other gift items to Litun Jira at her residence in Manirampur upazila on Saturday to inspire the girl to chase her dream.
Overwhelmed with the special aid, Litun Jira said, “I’m very grateful to Bashundhara Group. This day will remain as a memorable one in my life.”
Talking to UNB over her aim, the meritorious girl said she wants to be a doctor.
Physical limitations could not stop Litun Jira from pursuing studies. The girl, born without limbs, wrote with her mouth and cleared this year’s PEC examination with flying colours.
She is among 326,088 candidates who secured GPA 5 or A+ in PEC.
Litun Jira, daughter of Habibur Rahman and Jahanara Begum of Sheikhpara Khanpur village in the upazila, participated in the exam from Khanpur Government Primary School.
Her physical disability was the cause of concern for her parents who struggled to find ways to bring her up like other children.
