Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on Tuesday announced a one-day programme to mark the seventh death anniversary of Buet student Abrar Fahad.
JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir announced the programme.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by JCD Office Secretary (vice-president rank) Md Jahangir Alam, on Tuesday night.
Abrar, a talented and patriotic student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), was killed in 2019 in what JCD described as brutal torture by Bangladesh Chhatra League during the rule of the “fascist government” led by then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
As part of the programme, a discussion will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday at the Alumni Association auditorium on the ground floor of the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at Dhaka University.
The discussion is titled “BNP government’s foreign policy: National unity against hegemony, expansionism and imperialism; and commitment to protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will attend the discussion as the chief guest.
