Dhaka, Aug 28 (UNB) – After holding a rally, journalists on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the home ministry demanding to fulfil their four-point demand including the immediate arrest of the attackers who swooped on journalists during the recent student protests for road safety.
Leaders and members of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) jointly held the rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
Three other demands of the journalists are the immediate completion of the trial of journalist couple Sagor-Runi, stopping torture and harassment of journalists by police and to complete the trial of journalist killing cases across the country in different times including BNP-Jamaat ruling period, said a press release issued by BFUJ and DUJ.
After holding the rally from the Jatiya Press Club premises to gate no. 3 of the secretariat, a group of leaders went to the ministry and submitted their memorandum.
However, the minister was not in the office at that time.
