A 28-year-old man was hacked to death allegedly by a drug peddling gang in Sadar upazila of Faridpur on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was Asaduzzaman Nur alias Turag, son of Alauddin Hawlader of Maddhyo Alipur area in district headquarters.
Police and locals said the body was spotted lying in a tree garden owned by one Jamal Mollah in Govindrapur area in the evening.

Later, police recovered it and sent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy in Faridpur, said Kotwali police station’s sub-inspector Belal Hossain.
He said that two teams from Criminal Investigation Department and Police Bureau of Investigation have already visited the spot.

A legal process was underway in this regard, he said, assuming that drug peddlers were involved in the killing.
The police official, however, could not provide details about the victim.
