A 42-year-old man was allegedly killed by his son following an argument in their house in the Char Milpara area of Kushtia on Friday morning.
"The deceased, Babu Hossain, was a hawker by profession. He was killed by his son, Ramiz, 18, after an argument between them turned violent," said officer-in-charge Sabbirul Alam of Kushtia Police Station.
The wife of the deceased said that Babu came home from Dhaka two days ago.
"This morning, he asked our son, Ramiz, who works in a local factory, for financial contribution to the household. But he flatly refused, which led them to the argument," she said.

The argument suddenly turned violent when Ramiz allegedly attacked his father with a bamboo stick around 6am. A seriously injured Babu was declared dead on arrival at local hospital, she said.
"Legal action will be taken against the culprit, who is absconding," OC Sabbirul said.
