Mymensingh, May 13 (UNB) – A court here on Monday sentenced a man to death for killing his cousin over land dispute at Paika Shimul village of Muktagacha upazila in 2013.
The convict is Rakibul Islam Rakin, 35, son of Abdur Razzak of Paika Shimul village in the upazila.
According to the case statement, on October 19, 2013, Rakib took his cousin Maruf, a school student, to a remote place in the name of catching birds and hacked him to death.
Rakib dumped Maruf’s body in a pond. Later Maruf’s family members recovered the body.
Two days after the incident, victim’s mother filed a case with Muktagacha Police Station .
After examining all the records and witnesses district and sessions Judge Md Helal Uddin pronounced the verdict.
