A Magura court on Monday sentenced a man to death for killing a teenage girl after rape in 2022.
Magura District and Session Judge Mizanur Rahman handed down the judgment.
The convict is identified as Hasan Sheikh, 28, son of Fazlu Sheikh of Srikol village in Sreepur upazila of Magura district.
According to the prosecution, Rajia Khatun, a class VI student of a local school of Srikol village in Sreepur upazila of the district, went missing after leaving her home on March 17, 2022.
Later, she was found dead near a bamboo grove along the Kumar River on that day.
Mikij Sheikh, father of the girl, filed a case with Sreepur Police Station.
Later police arrested Hasan Sheikh from the village on March 19 that year.
After examining records and 11 witnesses, Magura District and Session Judge handed down the judgement.
