Police recovered the body of a young man from a room of a residential hotel in the Boro Moghbazar area under Hatirjheel Police Station in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Faisal Goni,32, a resident of Adarsha Anandalia village in Harinakunda upazila of Jhenaidah district and a son of Md Osman Goni, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatirjheel Police Station Golam Mortuza.
According to police, the body was recovered from room No. 224 of a residential hotel named “Tinstar.”
Police broke open the door and found the body lying on the bed, the OC said.
According to the hotel register, Faisal Goni rented the room on March 8 after arriving in Dhaka for business purposes.
On Tuesday morning, hotel authorities went to the room to collect outstanding rent but received no response despite repeated knocks. Later, they informed police and they went to the spot and recovered the body after breaking open the door.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
According to Primary information, Faisal had been suffering from asthma and breathing complications, the OC said. He also added that the exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report. Further legal process are underway.
