Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Monday said the members of the media reform commission have solid backgrounds and hoped the panel will be able to produce a good report with recommendations.
"We think the responsibility has been given to a broad-based panel. We believe that," he told reporters at a media briefing at Foreign Service Academy.
CA's Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder also responded to questions from the reporters on various issues.
The chief of the media reform commission - senior journalist Kamal Ahmed - has been given full freedom to choose its members, Apurba Jahangir said, adding that it would be the best to ask him if there is any further queries.

Other members of the commission are Gitiara Nasreen, professor at Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, University of Dhaka; Shamsul Haque Zahid, editor of The Financial Express; Titu Datta, deputy editor of The Business Standard;
Syed Abdal Ahmed, former general secretary of the National Press Club; Fahim Ahmed, chief executive officer of Jamuna TV; Akhtar Hossain Khan, secretary of the Newspaper Owners' Association of Bangladesh (NOAB); Jimi Amir, journalist; Mostafa Shabuj, Bogura correspondent for The Daily Star; Abdullah Al Mamun, a student representative and a representative from the Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).
"I can say they all have solid backgrounds. It is a broad-based panel," said the Press Secretary.
Alam also said the government is trying its best to check the price hike of essential commodities. "Our efforts continue."
He said the price of eggs has been reduced following the government’s efforts.
The commission will submit its report to Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus within the next 90 days.
