With the theme "Communities make the difference", students of Mugda Medical College, Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and Popular Medical College ran awareness campaign on HIV/Aids in the city’s Rabindra Sarobor.
DSCC Councilor of Ward no. 15 Zakir Hossain Shopon inaugurated the event while Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University (BSMMU) Dermatologist Dr. Mehran Hossain was present as a special guest.
Zakir Hossain Shopon said similar events need to be arranged more frequently to reach people and create awareness against Aids.
“We also have to let the patients know that we have not abandoned them,” he added.
On behalf of the organisers, IMFSA BD local committee coordinator Sumaiya Adiba said their goal is to make the community a better place for HIV sufferers and help people who are at risk.
A colourful rally was brought out in Dhanmondi by the orgaband earlier the med students formed a human chain.
