Police recovered the bodies of a woman and her nine-year old son from their house at Sonaikandi village in Doulatpur upazila on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Sanowra Khatun, 49, and her son Raj, 9 of the area.
Jamirul Islam Babu, local union parishad chairman, said unidentified miscreants strangled divorcee Sanowra and her minor boy to death sometime at night.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the bodies from separate rooms of the house at 10 am on Monday, he added.
S M Arifur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Doulatpur Police Station, said he visited the spot.
