A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ICT Division and ‘Ami Probashi Limited’ app to assist aspiring Bangladeshi migrants in gaining employment abroad by engaging all stakeholders.
Md. Ataur Rahman Khan, joint secretary of the ICT Division and Namir Ahmed Noori, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ami Probashi Limited, inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations at the BCC auditorium in ICT Tower in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad and State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, among others, were present at the signing ceremony.

Addressing the initiatives taken for betterment of the expatriates, Minister Imran emphasised on the need for equal responsibility and efforts from both parties in the public-private partnership.
He said that the expatriates have started getting online services from the app while some 5 million users are in touch with it developed on a service charge-based model.
The minister said due to simplification of the existing system developed in the app has made the services more accessible to the people.
Thanking the Overseas Employment ministry and Ami Probashi Limited for working jointly on such a smart project, state minister Palak said several initiatives including data bank preservation of migrant workers were taken.

He said the Ami Probashi App is one of the fastest growing apps in the world right now and he has so far found no flaws in this initiative.
He hoped that the joint collaboration between the ICT Division and Ami Probashi will take the platform forward launching handy features for migrants in the near future such as bank account opening, marketplace and remittance facility.
