A housewife, who sustained severe burn injures in an explosion on Tuesday, died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Farida Begum, 25, wife of Sharif Mia of Kayempur in Fatullah area of Sadar upazila.
Mobarak Hossain, sub-inspector of Fatullah Model Police Station, said Farida succumbed to her injuries at the burn unit of DMCH at night.
On Tuesday, Sharif , 30 and his wife suffered burns after explosion of a gas pipe line. They were taken to Narayanganj 300-bed hospital and later shifted to the burn unit of DMCH.
Bachchu Mia, inspector of DMCH police camp, said Farida suffered 80 percent burns.
Police said the explosion might have occurred due to a leakage in the gas pipe line.
