She came up with the remark at a press conference at the DU Teachers’ Club.
Students of the dormitory have been demanding reelection to their hall union and resignation of the hall provost for her ‘failure’ to hold a fair election on March 11.
They were also demanding withdrawal of a case filed against inmates of the dormitory.
About the demand to withdraw the case, Zeenat Huda said the case was not filed on behalf of the hall administration. “However, if students come to me with their demand, I’ll discuss it with them.”
She also said blaming her for alleged irregularities in the hall union election is not right.
Responding to a query whether she met the students who are on the hunger strike demanding reelection, the hall provost said she sent house tutors to them. “Besides, there’s also proctorial team for their security.”
Ruqayyah Hall residents started protests on Tuesday night demanding fresh election.
Marjuka Raina, a student of the dormitory, filed a case against five people, including Ducsu vice-president-elect Nurul Haq Nur, with Shahbagh police on Monday night for reportedly assaulting the provost on Monday night.
The Ducsu election was held on Monday after nearly three decades, but it was marred by allegations of irregularities. All panels, except that of Bangladesh Chhatra League, boycotted the polls alleging vote fraud.
