The ministry in a press release said that the Department of Inspection of Factories and Establishment, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA) came up with the positive assurance.
BGMEA said that they have paid Eid allowance of 95 percent garment factories and the rest will be paid within next one or two days. The salary of July will be paid on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
BKMEA said that they have paid Eid allowance of 92 percent garment workers and the rest will be paid with next one or two days. They have paid July salary of 50 percent of workers and the rest will be paid within August 10.
Inspector Generals of Inspection of Factories and Establishment Department in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Chattogram informed that the atmospheres of garment factories are sound centering their salary and allowance of the workers.
The workers of BGMEA will get Eid vacation in two phases on August 10 and August 11 and the banks of the industrial areas will be open on August 10.
Eid ul Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims will be celebrated on August 12.
