DPDC Managing Director of Bikash Dewan made this assurance while addressing a press conference on Thursday at the DPDC Headquarters in the city.
He also announced a special programme “mobile electricity service” for consumers on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of the country’s Independence and celebration of Mujib Year.

“Electricity demand in the coming summer will be around 1,900 MW in the DPDC areas. We hope we could supply power as per demand and there will be no shortage”, he told reporters.
DPDC company secretary Asaduzzaman, Executive Director Golam Mostafa and Gias Uddin Zoarder we’re also present on the occasion.
The DPDC chief said that they have been taking adequate preparation to ensure adequate power supply to every area under his distribution company.

Admitting different allegations against the officials and employees of DPDC for taking speed money against any service, Bikash Dewan said the company is trying hard to motivate its staff to refrain from demanding any undue money from consumers.
He said DPDC will provide mobile electricity services to its 36 distribution zones by introducing mini-trucks which will receive complaints from consumers and instantly address those.

Mini-trucks will move across every three zones in rotation in total 12 working days, he said adding that the mobile services will include new connections, load extension, meter change, vending and electricity bills correction.
Consumers can re-charge their pre-paid meter cards from the mobile van services, he added.
