Jashore, Sept 6 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a man along with 10 gold bars, weighing 1.163 kg, from Potengali Kabiraj Para under Kotwali police station on Thursday morning.
The arrestee is Hasanuzzaman Hasan, 30, son of Momin Uddin, a resident of Khorki village in Sadar upazila.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 conducted a drive along 29 no pillar area in Sharsha upazila, said Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Haq, commanding officer of BGB-49.
Sensing the presence of BGB members, Hasanuzzaman fled the scene.
Later, the BGB team chased him and arrested from the area under Kotwali thana along with the gold bars worth Tk 51,17,200.
The arrestee was handed over to Kotwali Police Station.
