Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of valiant freedom fighter Saleh Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury,  father of former AL central working committee member and former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League Chittagong University unit Alauddin Nasim Chowdhury.

She prayed for  eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.

Alhaj Saleh Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury breathed his last at 5pm at his own home due to old age complications. He was 87. 

He left behind wife, daughter, three sons and a host of relatives and well- wishers.

Meanwhile, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also expressed his profound sorrow and shock at the death of Saleh Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury.
