He said the Railway Bridge will be built next to the Bangabandhu Bridge.
All the processes, including tenders and contracts, have already been completed for the construction of the bridge.
The construction will start after the laying of the foundation, said Sujan while inspecting the site at Saidabad Golchattar in Sirajganj Sadar upazila.
The minister said the implementation work on the project will start after dividing it into two parts -- Sirajganj and Tangail regions.
The new railway bridge will be able to run trains at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour with two lines, said Sujan.
The project will be completed by 2025, he added.
Local MP Prof Dr Habib-e-Milat, district council chairman Abdul Latif Biswas, the deputy commissioner, the superintendent of police of the district and other senior officials of the Railway Department were present on the occasion.
