Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will provide prize money to all players of Bangladesh women football team who clinched the title of SAFF Women’s Championship 2022.
The premier will also provide houses for those players who need them. She has already ordered authorities concerned to gather information towards that end.
Sheikh Hasina, who is currently in New York to attend the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), will provide the prize money and houses after returning home, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told UNB on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, PM directed to build a house for Rupna Chakma, goalkeeper of Bangladesh women football team, in her hometown Rangamati.
She gave the directive after a picture of Rupna Chakma's dilapidated house went viral on social media and came to her notice.
Later, another news came to the PM’s notice that another player needs a house. So, the prime minister directed the authorities concerned to gather information on the state of other players’ houses.
Bangladesh women team lifted the SAFF title 2022 by beating four-times finalist and hosts Nepal 3-1 in Kathmandu on September 19 last.
