Police recovered the body of a man and his son, both murdered, from Amin Bazar union in Dhaka’s Savar upazila on Monday.
Fuad Islam, 55, and his one-and-a-half-year-old child Ashik, who hailed from Faridpur district, were found dead inside Rupali Saikat Kalyan Samiti Housing in Bardeshi area under the union.
Atikul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station said that they recovered the bodies and sent them to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital morgue in the capital for post-mortem.
Efforts are underway to arrest the killers, he added.
According to locals, Fuad ran a dairy farm on a vacant plot of Rupali Saikat Kalyan Samiti for several years. He employed a young man named Joy to take care of his farm there.
However, Joy has been absconding since this incident.
Locals said Joy was trying to sell some cows owned by Fuad two to three days ago. When they obstructed him, Joy went into hiding.
His arrest may reveal the mystery of the murder, they believe.
