The Power Division on Thursday urged electricity consumers using prepaid meters to update their meter tokens following the implementation of new electricity tariffs.
In a press release, the division said consumers whose prepaid meters require a token update of 200 digits or more should follow the instructions available on the websites of their respective power distribution companies.
The Power Division said the update is necessary to ensure that prepaid meters properly reflect the newly introduced electricity rates and continue to function without disruption.
Consumers have also been requested to seek assistance through the designated hotline services of the relevant power distribution agencies if they encounter any difficulties during the token update process.
According to the release, the central customer service hotline of the Power Division can be reached by dialling 16999.
The hotline numbers of the power distribution companies are: Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) – 16200, Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) – 16899, Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC) – 16116, Dhaka Electric Supply Company Ltd (DESCO) – 16120, Northern Electricity Supply Company Ltd (NESCO) – 16603, and West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd (WZPDCL) – 16117.
The Power Division urged consumers to complete the update process promptly to avoid any inconvenience and ensure uninterrupted electricity services under the revised tariff structure.
