A teenage boy was killed on Monday as he was video-recording a pre-poll clash on his mobile phone between the supporters of two rival chairman candidates in Chartarapur Union Parishad election in Pabna Sadar Upazila.
The incident occurred at Tarabaria Bazar of the union on Monday evening between the supporters the Rabiul Haque Tutul contesting with boat symbol and independent candidate Siddiqur Rahman’s (pineapple) followers.
The deceased was identified as Nasim Hossain, 16, son of Nawab Ali of Atghariapara village under Pabna Sadar upazila.

It was learnt that Nasim was recording the clash with his phone camera when he was stabbed from behind.
Police citing the locals said that about 10 people from both sides were injured during the clash.
Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam confirmed the incident.
When contacted both chairman candidates claimed that the deceased was their supporter, he said.
As tension gripped the area additional police were deployed, he added.
