President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Wednesday sought more Dutch investment in Bangladesh.
He said so when newly appointed resident ambassador of the Netherlands Irma Van Dueren presented his credentials to the President at Bangabhaban, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told UNB after the meeting.
He said many Dutch investors have already invested in Bangladesh and many more investors are interested to come.
Receiving the credentials from the Netherlands envoy, the President said the Netherlands is one of Bangladesh's development partners.
He said diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries are gradually increasing since independence.
The President said Bangladesh has achieved tremendous progress in the past one and a half decades in various sectors, including communication and women's empowerment, as a friendly investment situation is prevailing in the country.
The ambassador said the Netherlands always attaches great importance to the development of relations with Bangladesh.
