Miscreants set a bus of Shanto-Mariam University on fire in front of Labaid Hospital in the capital’s Dhanmondi area on Monday evening.
According to Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room, the fire broke out around 7:30 pm. On information, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control shortly afterward around 8:40 pm.
Duty officer Shahjahan Ali of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room said that due to heavy traffic congestion, the fire engine reached the spot a bit late.
No casualties were reported in the incident, he added.
