Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against 24 persons, including Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's former director general Mohammad Liaquat Ali Lucky and its secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury for recruitment forgery.
ACC spokesperson (deputy director) Aktarul Islam told UNB that ACC Deputy Director Sumitra Sen filed the case today.
According to the case, Liaquat Ali and Jahangir forged the mark sheets of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's recruitment exam and illegally appointed 23 candidates in 10 posts.
The candidates joined the posts and withdrew more than TK 8.28 crore as their salary since their joining, it said.
The accused in the case have been charged with embezzlement of government finds under Sections 409, 420, 468, 471, 109 of the Penal Code, 1860 and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
