Celebrating the Russian National Unity Day, Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Mantytskiy on Saturday said the 4th of November symbolizes the ability of the Russians to leave behind cultural, religious and national differences and come together as one to beat existential threats.
"National unity is the backbone for coexistence of Russia’s multi-confessional and multi-ethnic people that leads our country to power and prosperity," he said.
The reception started with a cultural programme presented by the Krasnoyarsk State Academic Ensemble of Siberia.
This is the first time the ensemble performs on a Bangladeshi stage.
"It is one of the best dance groups in Russia in the genre of stage folk dance. We have a wonderful opportunity to know better Russian rich culture and traditions carefully preserved by the ensemble’s artistic director and talented dancers," said the Russian Ambassador.
He thanked Sattar Mia, President of the Russian Friendship Society with Bangladesh, for his valuable input to organizing this event.
"I am sure that more successful activities are in the pipeline to promote affinity and mutual sympathy between our peoples," said the Ambassador.
