A case has been filed against 401 people including former Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy and former lawmaker Shamim Osman in connection with the death of a young man, killed during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Abdur Rhman, cousin of the deceased Rakib, 21, filed the case against 101 identified people and 300 unidentified people with Siddhirganj Police Station on Tuesday, said officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station Al Mamun.
Abdur Rahman filed a petition to Narayanganj court on September 19.
The case was filed following the order of the court, said OC.
The other accused of the case include —Ayan Osman, son of Shamim Osman, Shamim’s nephew Ajmeri Osman, Siddhirganj unit AL president Mujibur Rahman, its general secretary Hazi Yeasin Mia, convener of Siddhirganj unit Jubo League Matiur Rahman, former ward councilor Nur Uddin Mia, No 3 ward councilor Shahjalal Badol, Tanjim Kabir Saju.
According to the case statement, Rakib was shot to death on Dhaka-Chattogram highway near Dash Tala overbridge while going to his workplace during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5.
