Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Monday arrested two teenagers as they allegedly killed a five-year-old girl after raping her in Gazipur's Kashimpur.
PBI's Gazipur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Makshuder Rahman confirmed this at a press briefing in the evening.
Police found the victim's body under an abandoned building in Kashimpur's Bagbari on October 29.
During the primary interrogation, the teens confessed to their involvement in the rape and murder, Makshuder said.
“They raped the child on August 9 and strangled her to death. Later, they buried her under the abandoned building.”
Earlier, a missing complaint was filed over the incident. But the victim's mother lodged a murder case on October 30 after her daughter's body was recovered, Makshuder said.
