Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh Thitiporn Chirasawadi paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Bank Governor Mohammad Mostaqur Rahman on Monday and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral trade and institutional cooperation.
The meeting was held at the central bank headquarters where the two sides exchanged views on expanding trade, increasing investment and simplifying the export-import settlement process between the two countries.
During the meeting also stressed the importance of expert-level knowledge exchange and strengthening technical capacity to make financial transactions more efficient.
The Bangladesh Bank governor thanked the Thai government and the Bank of Thailand for offering professional training opportunities to officials of the central bank, highlighting the importance of such support in improving institutional skills.
Senior officials of Bangladesh Bank were present at the meeting.
Both sides expressed hope that the friendly relations between Dhaka and Bangkok would continue to grow stronger in the coming days.
