Thousands of job seekers gathered at the nextjobz Career Summit & Job Fest 2026 on Tuesday, where direct interviews and on-the-spot recruitment offered employment opportunities to participants.
Organised by nextjobz, the day-long event was held at the Krishibid Institution in capital’s Farmgate, bringing together more than 100 employers, industry experts and job seekers from various sectors.
The participants included students, fresh graduates, experienced professionals and senior-level executives, creating a platform that brought together career preparation, skills development, recruitment and professional networking.
Dr Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, secretary and executive chairman of the National Skills Development Authority under the Prime Minister’s Office, attended the event as the chief guest.
Dr Nazneen said, developing a skilled workforce in line with the changing demands of the labour market is crucial, noting that academic qualifications alone are not sufficient for employment.
She urged job seekers to develop technical and professional skills as well as communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
She also stressed the need for greater cooperation between the public and private sectors to link skills development, training and employment opportunities.
