Three people were shot and injured in Brahmanbaria on Thursday evening over a local dominance dispute.
The incident occurred near Kandipara Mor area of Brahmanbaria sadar.
The injured are Nazmul Ahmed Tutul, 36, Shihab, 30, and Saju Mia.
Tutul and Shihab are undergoing treatment at the Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.
Md Azharul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station, said, “The conflict was between Lion Shakil’s group from Kandipara area and District Swecchasebak Dal covener Delwar Hossain Dilip’s group. Following this feud, later in the evening, as members of Dilip’s group were present in the Kandipara area, Lion Shakil and his associates opened fire on them. Tutul, Shihab, and Saju Mia were shot and injured. Locals then rescued the victims and took them to the hospital.”

He also said that the police are investigating if there are other reasons behind the dominance fight.
“All involved will be brought to justice,” he added.
Dr Nur Ibne Bin Sifat, the attending doctor at the district sadar hospital, said, “The two injured by rubber bullets are receiving treatment at the hospital.”
