Police have arrested three more individuals in connection with the killing of Dipu Chandra Das in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to 29.
They were picked up during a drive in front of Pioneer Knitwears (BD) Limited, where Dipu Das used to work, at Jamirdia Masterbari of Bhaluka upazila on Monday afternoon, according to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police of the district on Tuesday evening.

The arrestees are Tajmul Sarkar alias Sadek, 22, son of Ripon Sarkar of Bahadurpur village in Trishal upazila; Md Rubel Mia, 36, son of Abdul Motaleb of Tarail upazila in Kishoreganj; and Md Robin, 37, son of late Aminul Islam of Bandar thana in Narayanganj.
Police said CCTV footage analysis and digital intelligence were being used to identify those involved in the incident, which led to the latest arrests.
The arrested individuals were present at the scene during the killing and actively participated in the attack. They allegedly incited workers and a mob, contributing to the violent assault and inhumane treatment of the victim, they said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Mamun said a total of 29 suspects have been arrested so far, 12 of whom have already given confessional statements before a court.
According to police, tensions erupted on December 18, 2025 in the Dubalia Para area of Bhaluka after allegations of blasphemy were raised against Dipu Chandra Das, a resident of Mokamiakanda village under Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh. He was working at his factory at the time.
As the situation escalated, he was forced to resign from his job. Later that night, he was taken out of the factory premises and brutally assaulted by an angry mob, killing him on the spot.
Police said the attackers later hung the body from a tree by the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway and set it on fire before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, Dipu’s younger brother filed a murder case at Bhaluka Model Police Station, against around 150 unidentified suspects.
