When his attention was drawn to a video clip of a woman being harassed by policemen while travelling alone in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the city’s Rampura area early Tuesday, the DMP Commissioner said a three-member committee has already been formed headed by Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel Division) Anwar Hossain to probe the incident. “The committee was asked to submit its report within 48 hours and action will be taken as per the probe report.”
He also said the number of allegations against police has seen a fall due to punishment being meted to disgruntled policemen.
Asaduzzaman said the DMP has been observing traffic discipline week in the city from Wednesday which will continue till October 30.
He also urged the city dwellers to obey the traffic rules on the city streets.
