Sylhet, June 22 (UNB)- Transport owners and workers have postponed their strike scheduled for June 24 in Sylhet division and Brahmanbaria.
Earlier a transport strike was called protesting launch of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus service on Sylhet-Sunamganj highway.
Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Md Abdul Ahad told media that the decision of postponing the strike was taken on Friday night after a meeting between Sylhet Divisional transport owners-workers unity council and Passengers’ Rights Protection Council.
Secretary for Sylhet division and Brahmanbaria bus owners’ samity Sajib Ali and Passengers Rights Protection Council’s Advocate Raj Uddin and Environment and Haor Development Sangstha’s president Kashmir Reza were present at the meeting.
