Bagerhat, May 22 (UNB) – Two people died after being electrocuted while felling a tree at Betaga village in Fakirhat upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Rahmat Ullah, 62, son of Karim Uddin, and Subodh Das, 50, son of Dijabar Das of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Police Station Abu Jahid Sheikh said the duo was cutting a betel nut tree.
It fell on a live electric wire and got electrified and Rahmat and Subodh got electrocuted, killing them on the spot.
