In Satkhira, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Tuesday arrested two people from Palashpool area of the district town for reportedly violating a schoolgirl.
The arrestees were identified as Hossain Morol, 18, son of Hafizul Morol, and Akbar Ali Gazi, 38, son of Ansar Ali Gazi of Jethua village in Tala upazila.
Briefing reporters, acting company commander of Satkhira Rab Camp Lt BNM Mahmudur Rahman said Hossain developed an affair with the Class-VII girl.
Later, he tactfully took the girl to a residential hotel near Satkhira Bus Terminal on Tuesday where he violated her.
Akbar took the video footage of the rape incident, he said, adding that later he also raped the girl threatening to upload the video on the internet.
Tipped off, the elite force conducted a drive at the hotel and arrested them, the Rab official said.
In Barguna, a class-IV student was reportedly violated by a young man at Latakata in Sadar upazila on Monday.
The victim was undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in Barishal.
Police arrested Shawon, 19, son of Nurul Islam of the village in this connection, said Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
The victim’s mother said Shawon took the girl to behind the house of one Moti Mia and violated her while she was returning home after tuition on Monday night.
The girl became unconscious. She was first taken to Barguna General Hospital where doctors referred her to the SBMCH for better treatment.
