Two young men were killed and two others injured in a motorcycle accident in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Mohaddis Khan, 20, of Holholia village and Sheikh Nayan Mia, 20, of Satang village, both in Chun arughat upazila.
The accident occurred around 5:30pm in the Chandpur Tea Garden area along the old Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
The identities of the two injured could not be known immediately. They were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Police said the four youths had gone to the Chandpur Tea Garden area on two motorcycles for an outing. On their way back, one of the motorcycles lost control while being driven at high speed, causing the accident.
Mohaddis and Sheikh Nayan died on the spot, while the two injured were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
On information, police from Chunarughat Police Station rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies.
Chunarughat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saiful Islam said necessary legal proceedings were underway over the incident.
