Veteran journalist Hamiduzzaman Robi died of a cardiac failure in Dhaka Monday night. He was 73.
Hamiduzzaman collapsed at his home in Dhanmondi around 8 pm on Monday. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in the capital, where doctors declared him dead after efforts to revive him failed.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Hamiduzzaman started his career as a journalist way back in 1972 when he joined Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS). He retired as the managing editor in 2008.
In the 1980s, he served as the general manager and public relations officer of Bangladesh Biman. He also served as the presidential correspondent of BSS for nearly 10 years.

The senior member of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) was buried at Rayerbazar graveyard on Monday night after Namaz-e-janaza at Jame Mosque on Dhanmondi.
Jatiya Press Club president Farida Yasmin and general secretary Ilyas Khan expressed grief over the demise of Hamiduzzaman.
